“Cross-Border E-Commerce Speciality Training” is organised with the collaboration of WORLDEF BUSINESS SCHOOL (WBS), Uludağ University, Bursa Eskişehir Bilecik Development Agency (BEBKA).

“Cross-Border E-Commerce Speciality Training” is organised between 13 August – 4 September in Bursa Uludağ University Ali Osman Sönmez Campus Social Science Vocational School. E-commerce and cross-border e-commerce training is offered to 15 people including professors, assistant professors and faculty members which is organised under “Development of Speciality in Cross-Border E-Commerce Under Vocational Education” supported by the 2020 Technical Support Program of the Vocational School

In 72-hour certificate program, WBS General Director Orxan Isayev and WORLDEF Senior Consultant Çağdaş Yeşilbağ as well as experienced names of the ecosystem such as Gökhan İlikli, Emre Bükçü, Betül Karol, Mustafa Sönmezay, Mustafa Aydın and Sedat Ateş provided training and shared their experiences on different topics related to e-commerce and cross-border e-commerce expertise. Field visits, project presentations and certificate ceremony was included in the training.

Cross-border e-commerce project presentations prepared by the faculty members were assessed by BTSO Assembly Vice Chairman Murat Bayizit, KOSGEB Bursa West Director Erkan Güngör, WBS General Director Orxan Isayev and WORLDEF Bursa Representative Mustafa Sönmezay. BEBKA General Secretary İsmail Gerim and BUÜ Rectorate Prof. Dr. Ahmet Saim Kılavuz participated in the certificate program organised at the end of the training. Social Science Vocational School Director Prof. Dr. Özhan Çetinkaya and Prof. Dr. Sema Ay supported the training.

Orxan Isayev: It is vital to update the university curriculum with cross-border e-commerce vision.

WBS General Director Orxan Isayev stated that different cross-border e-commerce speciality applications are considered in Cross-Border E-Commerce Speciality Certificate Program. Isayev stated that they have to provide a new vision in e-commerce and cross-border e-commerce to the participants and it is vital to include these topics in the curriculum to raise young people whom we will entrust our future and added, “In this training, there were multi-directional topics such as e-commerce infrastructure, sales in global marketplaces and global network. We made a sparked and our valuable teachers have a lot of things to do to turn this spark into a fire.”

Çetinkaya: We highlight cross-border e-commerce in vocational training

BUÜ Social Science Vocational School Director Prof. Dr. Özhan Çetinkaya evaluated the curriculum and remarked that foreign trade is experiencing a fast digital transformation. Çetinkaya said, “cross-border e-commerce has strategic importance in the national economy. We highlight classes related to cross-border e-commerce in vocational training. We are preparing a common vocational curriculum. We aim our students in our university to benefit from this training to improve their careers, to improve cross-border e-commerce culture and to raise young entrepreneurs. At the same time, we are offering our products with high added value to the international market and we hope that this will contribute to the development of Bursa.”

Prof. Dr. Month: Companies will grow with a cross-border e-commerce focus

Project Coordinator and Social Science Vocational School Head of Foreign Trade Department Prof. Drç Sema Ay stated that the project is conducted with 15 people in their department and from faculty members in Bursa Uludağ University, International Business and Trade, Logistics and Business Administration Department. Prof. Dr. Ay emphasised that the training content is specially designed by WBS General Director Orxan Isayev for the participant profile and said, “with Cross-Border E-Commerce Speciality Training, they will lead the way to participants as a mentor in cross-border e-commerce focused growth in digital transformation processes.”

The participants of WBS “Cross-Border E-Commerce Speciality Training” can learn all basic level information for cross-border e-commerce management. The training has various topics including cross-border e-commerce entrepreneurship, government incentives, payment systems, logistic infrastructure, customs operations and brand registration. The cross-border e-commerce start-ups will get the chance to develop their expertise in the ecosystem after this training that acts as a guide to companies for doing business in their cross-border e-commerce expertise journey.
