Asır Group Key Customer Manager Hilal Sancar stated that they are a firm supplying products to large e-commerce websites and said, “We are the largest e-commerce supplier in Europe.” Sancar highlighted the target of the group that was born out of digitalisation was to put Turkey at the centre of the Silk Road.
Hilal Sancar answered the questions of Bedirhan Albağ from WORLDEF Enterprise on e-commerce, digitalisation and group targets. According to information provided by Sancar, Asır Group established in 2011 grow approximately 70% every year. The target market of the group is countries outside Turkey and 97.5% of the trade is export-focused. The group exports products in home textile, furniture, wall decoration, fashion and illumination categories.

Hilal Sancar said “Asır Group is one of the firms that first realised the importance of e-commerce in the digitalising world.” and provided information about the group’s operations, “We have manufacturing department. Additionally, we have a product team which is one of the most important departments in e-commerce. This team is responsible for products photos, writing descriptions and listing. Additionally, we have a sales team and aftersales team. These teams are responsible for the entire sales line. We have a supply team and logistic team. Our warehouse has a large operation. Therefore, we have an operation team. We have HR, accounting and finance departments.”

Sancar gave information about local and global-scale targets and said, “as short-term targets, we want to be one of the top 100 exporters in Turkey at a local level. For the long-term, we want to be one of the top 10 exporters of Turkey. At the global level, we aim to place Turkey at the centre of the Silk Road.”
Hilal Sancar provided the following information about the new projects, “we have started numerous new collaborations. Currently, we made a new agreement with Aeropostale, one of the leaders of the ready-wear sector in the US. Additionally, we made an agreement with Juicy Couture which is considered as a higher segment brand. We will have the production and sales right of these brands for a long time. This way, we increased our current product range.”

Sancar talked about the digital processes in Asır Group and said, “Asır Group is entirely born out of the developments in the digital world. We can take quick actions against our customer’s demands. Our team is dynamic. We can quickly adapt to new developments. Constantly participating to international fairs also has a great influence to adapt to new developments.”
Hilal Sancar’s answer to “What is the position of Asır Group in the e-commerce market in Turkey and around the world? Do you have any works in this matter?” was “Actually, I can say that Asır Group is a firm that supplies products to large e-commerce websites.” We have high product diversity. Our website has more than 100 thousand SKU products. Therefore, we offer a wide range of product to our customers. Now, we are the largest e-commerce supplier in Europe.”
