8. World E-Commerce Forum will be organised with a hybrid model.

8th “World E-Commerce Forum” that will be organised by WORLDEF will gather trade, economy and finance ministers of G20 countries. 8. World E-Commerce Forum will be organised with the hybrid model. The form will consider “new digital normal” period. In the forum, consulate generals and important business people of G20 countries will meet in a hybrid reception that will be organised in Shangri-La Bosphorus Hotel.

Every year, the World E-Commerce Forum is organised by WORLDEF and main business partner Türkiye İş Bankası. The international forum is organised to contribute to global e-commerce ecosystem and the forum was organised online for the first time on 16 May with the support of Ministry of Commerce of the Republic of Turkey, Ministry of Commerce of the United Kingdom and The Union of Chambers and Commodity Exchange of Turkish (TOBB). This year, the forum will be organised in a hybrid form which involves the online and physical environment.

Online World E-Commerce Forum G20 that will be organised on 2-3-4 December 2020 with “New Digital Normal” theme aims to offer a global vision to business circles. In the forum, consulate generals and important business people of G20 countries will meet on 2 December in a hybrid reception that will be organised in İstanbul Shangri-La Bosphorus Hotel. The speeches of the participants will be aired online. The media partners of the forum are TRT World and Fortune Turkey.

Various topics from e-commerce to digital diplomacy will be considered.

8. World E-Commerce Forum will host trade, commerce and finance ministers of G20 countries. The effects of COVID-19 on international trade, e-commerce, digital diplomacy and political execution, cross-border e-commerce, automation and financial stability, globalisation, pandemics and role of G20 will be considered in the forum. Approximately 50 thousand participants from more than 100 countries are expected and more than 100 companies will have stands and there will be more than 50 speakers. Firms consisting of sector shareholders in different countries will have online matchmaking opportunity and these firms can collaborate and meet in the hybrid forum with special software. Firms other than G20 countries can also have stood. Firms that operate in the e-commerce ecosystem of different countries can participate for matchmaking.

The trade, economy and finance ministers of Turkey, Italy, United Kingdom, India, China, Germany, Korea, Brazil, Russia, South Africa, France United States of America, Japan, Australia, Dominion of Canada, Argentina, Mexico, Saudi Arabia and Indonesia are expected to participate to the forum.

Ömer Nart We will talk about e-commerce more than ever

WORLDEF Chairman Ömer Nart indicated a striking acceleration in global e-commerce. Nart highlighted that e-commerce is an important agenda for states and governments and emphasised that e-commerce is now considered on a global scale. Nart said, “As WORLDEF, we are undertaking ‘Online World E-Commerce Forum G20’ organisation that has unlimited potentials to handle e-commerce with international shareholders. We will talk about the today and the future of e-commerce with the participation of trade and finance ministers of G20 countries, famous business people and different scale firms to this forum. E-commerce was never talked this much. We will talk about e-commerce more than ever in the 8th Online World E-Commerce Forum G20.”

World E-Commerce Forum

Since 2017, the World E-Commerce Forum tests the pulse of e-commerce and cross-border e-commerce with expert international and local speakers. With international network opportunities, the forum undertakes the mission to contribute to facilitating e-commerce for global retail brands. The forum offers an in vision to ecosystem participants each year and brings together important names from the e-commerce ecosystem of different countries and important topics are considered for e-commerce to find solutions to the problems. The forum was organised online for the first of May 2020 due to COVID-19 pandemic. Until today, 7 different “World E-Commerce Forum” were organised which were 4 in İstanbul, 1 in İzmir, 1 in Baku and 1 online. Online World E-Commerce Forum G20 will be the second-largest online forum at a global scale.
